Borderfall PROTOTYPE

Borderfall

An early territory-conquest strategy game on four geographic maps: Europe, World, North America and South America. Detailed shaded-relief maps use public-domain Natural Earth data, with transparent territories and smooth camera movement. Combat runs on a separate 128 x 80 gameplay grid with generated connected provinces inside country boundaries; relief is visual and does not change combat costs. Grow your army, choose an attack force and push your border. Build cities to improve troop growth and gold income.

How to play

Choose a starting point on the map and confirm it to begin a solo battle against three clearly labelled bots. Bots choose strategic starts based on expansion space and distance from rivals. Choose a battle map in the menu before starting solo or creating a lobby. Guests inherit the host’s map. Click unclaimed land adjacent to your territory to advance, or use Expand borders. Use the attack slider to commit 10–80% of your current troops. To fight a rival, click an enemy tile touching your border on the same landmass. Each advance stays inside its target province; crossing into another province requires another command. Islands require separate coastal landings, even when narrow channels place their grid cells next to the mainland.

Cities cost 120 gold and can be built on your own tiles. Coastal landings cost 100 gold and require a friendly shore within 40 tiles; use them to reach islands and other continents. Capture 60% of the land to win. After six minutes, the commander controlling the most territory wins. Armies and income grow automatically while you play.

Multiplayer prototype status

The current hosted preview offers solo battles. Internet lobbies are not connected yet. The included local game server supports genuine shared lobbies for up to six commanders, with server-controlled troops, terrain, cities and combat. Bots are labelled separately.
